CHICAGO – In response to the Trump administration’s statement that they would not defend key provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Illinois Attorney General candidate Kwame Raoul issued the following statement.
“The Trump administration’s latest effort to take health care away from thousands of Illinois families and children is devastating and indefensible. As the son of a community physician and a cancer survivor myself, I believe that everyone should have access to affordable, life-saving health care, regardless of income or pre-existing medical conditions. That’s why I championed the early expansion of the Affordable Care Act in Illinois. If Donald Trump won’t enforce the law and protect people, as attorney general, I will.”
